GILLIAN WELCH and DAVID RAWLINGS
Oakland 2011 [no label, 1CD]

Live at the Fox Theatre, Oakland, CA; June 1, 2011. Very good audience recording.

The opening act for Buffalo Springfield (click here). Unfortunately, Gillian Welch did not preview any of the songs from her new album, The Harrow & The Harvest (out June 28, 2011), but it’s still an engrossing set.

Thanks to easyed for recording the show and sharing the tracks on Dime. easyed noted: “I would have preferred to have a better seat to record from but all the prime seats were filled and the ushers were too vigilant for me to get away with sneaking closer.” Still, certainly not a recording to be scoffed at.

Click on the highlighted tracks to download the MP3s (these are high quality MP3s - sample rate of 224 kbps). As far as we can ascertain, these tracks have never been officially released on CD.

  2. Gillian and David … what more can anyone ask … well, on that subject: the cover system just does not work for me … Please go back to the ‘old fashioned’ just click on pic and safe system. That I can work easily. Cheers and thanks for the sounds ….
