LADY GAGA
BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2011 [no label, 1CD]

Live at Carlisle Airport, UK; May 15, 2011. Excellent radio broadcast.

With all that publicity, Lady Gaga doesn’t need an introduction - with many younger fans, she’s already the flavour of the moment. But for older listeners, there will always be that comparison with the daring of Madonna and the raunchiness and sexual teasing of Prince. But she confounds expectations with that jazz interlude in the middle of the set and when she belts out that big band Orange Colored Sky. She might have bewildered her “little monsters” but there is certainly more to this Lady than meets the eye.
