Songs From The Past Vol 4 and 5 [Sidewalk Music, 2CD]

Outtakes; good to very good soundboard.

Recently, the Remastered Workshop group put out their revision of this five-CD set. Since the Remastered set cannot be shared lossy, here is the original set shared by collector Philip Cohen.

This is what Phil noted: “These were some of the earliest CDs of the Twickenham material. While I’m a huge Beatles fan, the Twickenham material is my least favorite Beatles material. Still, the sound quality is very good, and many Beatles fans will enjoy this stuff.”

Thanks to Phil for sharing the tracks.

Note: A longtime music fan, Philip Cohen was a contributor to the now-defunct ICE Magazine and compiled the boxsets for The Yardbirds, The Small Faces, Humble Pie and Nice.

Click on the highlighted tracks to download the MP3s (sample rate of 192 kbps). As far as we can ascertain, these tracks have never been officially released on CD.

  6. Thanks Philip and BigO for Songs from the Past. I’ll give a listen while recovering from hospital. I miss hearing Jim Ladd from KLOS 95.5 FM. The end of free-format radio meant he lost the gig. Decades of Los Angeles rock.

  8. Hey 3yrs, I got to hear Jim Ladd do a show on KFI yesterday afternoon driving home from Arcadia. Those I heard call in were John Fogerty, Jackson Browne & George Thorogood. He was expecting a call from Tom Petty. Jim Ladd was expressing his disappointment with Corporate Radio. I grew up with free form DJs on KLOS & KMET in the 70’s. I can’t imagine radio any other way. Another era ends. Pre-fab wins.

    3yrs- Be well my friend.
