DEEP PURPLE
Featuring Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt
Oslo 2011 [no label, 2CD]

The Songs That Built Rock! Live at the Spektrum Arena, Oslo, Norway; December 13, 2011. Excellent soundboard.

This recording just surfaced - thanks to Taper and DeepPurple20 for sharing the tracks and artwork on Dime.

Deep Purple fan Marctilly13 commented: “Thanks. Doing this because it’s a soundboard recording. Been a Deep Purple fan for ages but stopped going to see them years ago because the set list stays pretty much the same and also there’re a pretty tight band and Steve Morse, who is a great guitarist in his own right. But in this lineup he’s just a good Ritchie clone. He does Ritchie very well and his own style has never come through.”

  3. Thanks a lot for this! A great sounding concert. I await part 2.

BTW-Steve Morse plays plenty of Steve Morse, he’s not just copying Blackmore, but he does have to play the song parts too!

  4. Looking forward to hearing Ian Gillan at the vocal helm again!

  5. This is excellent. Like the dry humor of Marctilly13 who wouldn’t have shared but for a different set, and then mentions that Steve Morse is a Ritchie Clone…. Steve can clone anybody he wants IMHO, it always comes out sounding … pretty effing nice.

Thanks and happy new year to ya!

  8. There are a number of songs here that Blackmore never played - does Morse sit them out?
